This is just an update on my last, the install is flawless and everything works..not exactly out of the box but with the correct amount of configuration. Did it all, FGLRX (not from the .deb's) flash on the 64-bit firefox via nspluginwrapper and full sensors.
powersaved, mplayer, xmmms, avidemux, just about everything I need on a workstation.
moving from debian to ubuntu, felt like a downgrade (considering i have used ddebian for over 2 years and the last time i used ubuntu was warty warthog.) But in hindight it just feels like the smart move.
